Bergen Engines AS has signed a contract to supply equipment for a power plant in Nigeria. The power plant will be built in an industrial estate in the Calabar area of Cross River State and will have a capacity of 120MW. The power plant equipment will produce electricity and heat for the industrial estate and nearby residential areas. The plant will comprise ten 12MW Bergen B36:45V20 engine based units, each equipped with Marelli Motori electric generators. The plant will also be tasked with relieving peak loads and balancing the grid, given the plans to build large capacity solar and wind power plants in the region.
