MWM's new TCG 3016 gas piston engines can run on a hydrogen gas mixture with a hydrogen content of up to 25 per cent by volume

MWM has announced that it is bringing to market the TCG 3016 series of gas piston engines that can run on a hydrogen gas mixture with up to 25 per cent hydrogen by volume. In addition to the new engines, MWM is offering factory kits to convert previously purchased gas engines to run on a hydrogen gas mixture with up to 25 per cent hydrogen by volume.

All MWM gas engines can already run on gas with up to 10 per cent hydrogen by volume without any technical modifications. MWM now offers TCG 3016 series engines in the range from 400 kW to 1000 kW for operation with hydrogen mixture. The TCG 3016 gas engines are designed for main and peak load operation on a hydrogen gas mixture with a hydrogen content of up to 25 per cent by volume. The 25% hydrogen admixture allows plant owners to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 8% compared to operating on pure natural gas alone.

For existing TCG 3016 series plants, MWM offers two options for modified gas engine conversion kits to operate with hydrogen gas mixtures with hydrogen content up to 20 per cent or 25 per cent. The use of hydrogen mixtures as fuel allows the plant to be operated in compliance with greenhouse gas emission reduction regulations.
